How to clean safety shoes?

Remove dirt and debris from the surface of safety shoes

Use a soft-bristled brush (such as a shoe brush or an old toothbrush) to gently brush away dust, dirt and other dirt from the upper and sole of the shoe. If this method does not remove it, you can wipe off the debris with a slightly damp cloth.

Cleaning the upper

For leather safety shoes, use a damp cloth and soap or leather cleaner to gently wipe the upper and the seams and seams. For synthetic materials or mesh materials, use a soft cloth or soft brush with mild soap and water to gently wipe the upper. Then wipe off the soap or residual detergent with a damp cloth. For suede or nubuck safety shoes, use a special suede brush or eraser to clean the upper to prevent the suede from contacting water, as water will damage the suede.

Cleaning the sole

Use a stiff-bristled brush or toothbrush to clean the sole. You can use water and mild soap to scrub the grooves to remove debris such as dirt or stones. But be careful not to use too much force to damage the sole pattern, resulting in a weakened anti-slip function.

Remove stains or scratches

For leather shoes, apply a small amount of leather conditioner or detergent to a soft cloth and gently rub the scratched area. For synthetic or fabric materials, mix water and baking soda, then use a cloth or soft brush to gently rub the mixture, and finally wipe it with a damp cloth.

Dry your shoes properly

Let the safety shoes dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use a heater, hair dryer or other machine to dry them directly, as they may damage the shoe material or crack the leather. If the inside of the shoe is damp, you can stuff newspaper or absorbent cloth into the shoe to absorb the moisture inside the shoe and maintain the shape of the shoe.

Care and protection

Use leather conditioner to restore the moisture of the leather and prevent it from cracking or drying, especially if the shoes are often exposed to harsh environments. After care, you can apply leather shoe polish to increase the shine and provide a protective film for the shoes. For suede shoes, you can use suede protection spray to maintain its texture and prevent water spots and stains.

Check the laces and insoles

Remove the insoles and wash them. Hand wash the insoles with mild soap and water and let air dry. Check the laces and if dirty, clean them the same way you cleaned the insoles and replace them if worn.
